APPLICATION

The first step in the financial aid process is to apply and be accepted into the Adult Studies program. Please see the "how to apply" page for more information on enrolling to the program.

TRANSCRIPTS

Submit your official, unopened grade transcripts from each college you previously attended. Send all records to Adult Studies, Trinity Christian College, 6601 W. College Drive, Palos Heights, IL 60463.

FAFSA

To determine if you qualify for need-based aid from federal or state governments, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA requires students to have a PIN (personal identification number). Get your PIN online at www.pin.ed.gov.

The FAFSA also requires income tax information from the previous year. If you are a dependent student, you will also need your parents' tax information. You will need to file either a new FAFSA, or a renewal form in January for each year you are enrolled in the Adult Studies program.

Make sure the FAFSA you file includes Trinity's school code: 001771.

STUDENT AID REPORT

Trinity Christian College will receive a copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal government about one week after you file the FAFSA.

FINANCIAL AID PACKET

Shortly after receiving your Student Aid Report, the financial aid office will mail your financial aid packet. If verification documents are mailed to you, be sure to return all your paperwork to the financial aid office as soon as possible.

Complete the following steps to be assured that your loan money is released to Trinity; 1. complete the master promissory note, 2. fill out the Stafford Loan Request Form, 3. sign the authorization to retain funds, and 4. complete entrance loan counseling online at www.studentloans.gov.

Your loan money will be applied to your account 30 days after the semester begins.
Six weeks after each semester begins any awarded grant money and any remaining loan funds will be applied to your account.

REMAINING EXPENSES

Once loans and grants have been applied to your account, the remaining balance will be due. Alternative plans must be made to cover remaining balances. These plans may include alternative loans, out-of-pocket payments, and aid established for the next semester.

GRADUATION

Prior to finishing the program, you must complete exit loan counseling. A six-month grace period will be extended for all loan repayments.
