5 Reasons to Join an Accelerated Business Program
Ever wonder if a Business degree is worth the cost, time and stress? The short answer is yes, but you probably want to know more on why that is the case. Here are 5 reasons why earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business can benefit you, and why you should join Trinity’s Accelerated Business program.
1. Extensive Career Options
Whether you are looking to change careers or advance in your current position, a Bachelor’s degree in Business is key. It’s a versatile and well-respected degree that provides you with the skills you’ll need to succeed in your career.
Trinity’s Accelerated Business program lays a comprehensive foundation of business theory and practice. Each of the 16 courses focus on business principles you’ll use immediately in whatever business career you seek. Those courses include Negotiations, Professional Communication, Marketing, Financial Planning and Business Ethics and Society.
Plus, studies show that college remains very much worth the cost, as college graduates maintain their wage advantage over high school graduates (2015 Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce Report (CEW), “Hard Times”).
2. Cohort Model
Almost every school in the Chicago area offers a Business degree. So why should you choose Trinity’s Accelerated Degree Program? You may have already read through our earlier blog on what makes our programs accelerated, which includes the time and length, set sequence of courses, and that the program is writing based versus test based.
Another important benefit that stems from the accelerated format is that the classes follow the cohort model. You will be in the program with the same group of no more than 20 students, called a cohort, throughout the entire program. Your cohort will be comprised of people like you- working professionals with real-world experience that’s brought into the classroom. You are able to develop friendships and a strong support system, which lasts past graduation.
Scott, a current student, emphasizes the importance this model has on the classroom atmosphere: “The small cohort size allows you to get to know and interact with your classmates. When you compare to sitting in a larger lecture room, you realize there’s no connection there like you have here at Trinity."
3. Experienced Faculty
All courses in the program are taught by professors with years of experience in the Business world. A great example is Professor Rick Riddering, Director of the Adult Studies Business program.
Professor Riddering teaches three courses in the program: Organizational Behavior, Management Planning, and Business Ethics. He’s spent the last 15 years of his career in the higher education field. But before joining Trinity more than four years ago, Rick had some interesting stops in his career including professional sports public relations, consulting, publishing and banking. As a result of his experiences, he has numerous examples of the “good and the bad” of business, which he shares regularly with his students.
4. Affordable Tuition
The cost of going back to school can be a concern. Our accelerated programs are offered at a lower tuition rate per credit hour than traditional courses, which won’t vary or fluctuate during the program. Rental books are included in the cost of the tuition, so no extra worry about the high cost for books or the hassle of trying to find them online. Even better, you’ll receive a laptop when beginning the program, which is yours to keep after you graduate.
5. Reach Your Goal
So why not? We can help you reach your goal of completing your degree, without the concerns of cost, time and stress. A business degree can take you further in your career and open up many new paths you may not have had before. You’re busy, juggling work and family commitments already, which is why our accelerated format can help you reach your goal without having to put your life on hold.
