Fall Kick-Off on the Lawn!
Adult and Graduate Studies students were welcomed to campus this week at the Fall Kick-Off on the Lawn! Joined by faculty and staff, students enjoyed the beautiful weather outside with conversation, refreshments, and raffles before heading to the first class of the fall semester.
The Kick-Off was held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights starting at 5:20 and wrapping up when classes began at 6. Coffee and donuts of all varieties from Dunkin Donuts were available, while students entered their names in a raffle to win Trinity gear and t-shirts. Special thanks to Professor Rick Riddering, Director of the Adult Studies Business program, for announcing the winners of the raffle each evening without needing a microphone. President Kurt Dysktra unofficially awarded Nicole Barrowmen with the Spirit Award for her celebration run around the tent after winning a Trinity t-shirt!
It was just last week that the Adult Studies Department welcomed 70 new students in 5 cohorts at orientation, and the Graduate Studies Department welcomed 38 new students in 3 cohorts. Jumping back into school can be exciting, busy, and a little stressful, but overall a great experience with the support of the Trinity community. Welcoming the new students at the Kick-Off provided an opportunity for new students to meet current students and further experience the hospitality of Trinity’s faculty and staff!
Rhoda Mattson, Interim Academic Dean for Adult Studies and Graduate Programs, is delighted and honored to be leading this year’s exceptional group of talented and diverse students as they begin their studies this fall semester.
